East Hudson Women's Soccer League

LEAGUE HISTORY:

The EHWSL has been around since the 1990’s as an organized pickup league. Teams from Dutchess, Orange, and Putnam County, as well as Connecticut, would travel each week to play against each other. In the fall of 2006, there were at most 10 women from Dutchess and Putnam County that still came out to play soccer each week. At the end of the fall season, a small group of women put a plan in motion that they hoped would resurrect the women’s soccer league. By the next spring, a formal board of directors was elected. The league took on a formal name, held the first-ever registration, and fielded four full teams. We now have 15-20 teams, multiple divisions play indoor, outdoor, and tournaments. We have a foundation of committed and professional board of directors. Every division has a representative that participates on the board of directors.

Our "GOAL ":

We strive to encourage women of all ages and skill levels to participate in the game of soccer even after the college level. We strive to serve as advocates for the young girls and women in our community.

We are dedicated to the success of this league so that our daughters and the generations after will always have a place for them in the Hudson Valley. We strive to provide a supportive atmosphere for new players. We support our communities by participating in various fundraising events including the annual Goals For Hope Tournament.
